Pickleball is now on live television! This was announced by the United States Pickleball Association (USAPA) at their annual convention. The USAPA has partnered with Tennis Channel, so pickleball matches will be broadcasted live on the Tennis Channel. There are many different sports that have been broadcasted live on TV before… What makes pickleball worthy of a spot?

Television is a great way to get exposure and expand the audience. Currently, there are several sports television channels that broadcast live pickleball tournaments on TV: ESPN; Tennis Channel; The Golf Network; and Comcast Sportsnet Chicago. As the popularity of this sport continues to grow among younger individuals, many more networks will begin broadcasting it as well!

The game itself is great for all ages, but because it’s also an excellent form of exercise, it attracts participants who are younger. The Tennis Channel has broadcasted live pickleball matches before at the National Senior Games. Currently, they have a contract to continue broadcasting these games for three more years, thanks to the agreement with the PPA tour. CBS sports network also hosted the first ever live Pickleball U.S. Open in Naples, Fl in 2020.

There are also many platforms that live stream pickleball tournaments as well. One of the most popular is the pickleball channel, which shows a variety of tournaments from across the country. CBS Sports Network broadcasted the Pro Men’s Doubles GOLD – Minto US Open Pickleball Championships this past year, and thanks to the pickleball channel, you can catch all of the highlights here. This means that if you want to watch live pickleball matches on television, then all you have to do is go online and search for them!

Pickleball can be extremely fun to watch. It’s fast-paced, energetic, and exciting. It is common to see professional players barely dink the ball over the net to stay in a holding pattern until someone is brave enough to increase the pace by spiking the ball, at which point the excitement increases precipitously! It’s hard to keep up with where the ball is when they are in the heat of a fast rally, it’s pretty impressive to watch. That is why pickleball deserves a spot on live television!
