US Sports Camps launches Nike Pickleball Camps

On January 13th, 2021 the world’s biggest sportswear brand announced that they would be offering Nike Pickleball Camps. This is more great news for the fastest growing sport in America and for anyone wanting to improve their pickleball skills. They have now partnered with a number of professional pickleball athletes like #1 PPA player, Simone Jardim, who will be hosting these camps across the nation. USA Pickleball and the Pro Pickleball Association have had a big impact on this growth. Millions of people across the country have joined in on the fun because it is much easier to learn compared to it’s close relative, tennis. Make no mistake though, pickleball can become extremely competitive! Certain locations have even started converting their tennis courts to pickleball courts due to the demand…

This hybrid sport between tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, has also served as a way to help people live more active and healthy lives. Believe it or not, pickleball was born in 1965, when the Pritchard family tried playing badminton one afternoon and realized they were lacking the proper equipment. They improvised with some table tennis paddles and a plastic ball and soon had the serendipitous moment. The rate at which this sport is growing is astronomical and has shown no sign of slowing down. Below is a chart representing the popularity of the term “pickleball” since 2004. For more information about these pickleball camps, or to find a location near you, visit this link.
